Looking to work on your next project but not keen on printing and taping together a huge stack of printer pages before you can cut out your fabric? Here is a list of just some of the places that offer PDF pattern printing:
Blackbird Fabrics (Vancouver) https://www.blackbirdfabrics.com/
The Business Box (Kirkland, QC) https://www.thebusinessbox.ca/
The Cloth Shop (Vancouver) https://theclothshop.com/
Essem Textiles (Cloverdale) https://essemtextiles.com/
Gattous Fabrics (Halifax) https://gattousfabrics.com/
Rick Rack (Calgary) https://www.rickracktextiles.com/
Sew YYC (Calgary) https://www.sewyyc.ca/
Spool and Spindle (Kitchener) https://spoolandspindle.com/
There are also other places that can do large-scale printing, including places like Staples and other copy shops. The biggest thing to make sure is that these other places know to print your order at 100% and to not scale the file as that will cause issues with the pattern pieces not being the correct size.
Other Things to Keep in Mind When Choosing Where to Print:
- Lead Time: Some places offer this information on their website, or you can always contact them to find out how long it will take to print
- Colour or Black and White: Not all places offer colour printing, so if you did want the pattern printed in colour (like if you want to easily differentiate the different cutting lines), then you should check to see which place offers this, and if you are OK with the added cost associated with this option
- Shipping Time (if applicable): Will the order be shipped via lettermail or as a tracked package? Delivery lead times can change based on these options as well as where the order will ship from.
- Shipping Cost (if applicable): Some companies will fold your pattern and ship it like a document. Other places only offer the patterns to be rolled and shipped in a tube. Each option has its own associated costs.
- Can I pick up my order? (if choosing a local option) Being able to pick up an order helps save the shipping cost, so check to see if your local shop offers this option.
